Wolverhampton Best Bets
Race 4: ART ECHO (8) (Each Way)
Trainer: John Mackie
Jockey: Toby Eley
The form
ART ECHO produced to be beaten less than a length into third in a claimer here three weeks ago reads well. The 6yo had been out in the wilderness until then but loves this track, is clearly near back to his best and at double-figure odds can give his rivals plenty to think about as that should have put the necessary edge on him.
Race 6: CANASTA (6)
Trainer: James Fanshawe
Jockey: Daniel Muscutt
Unexposed and hailing from a respected Newmarket stable, CANASTA has the wherewithal to step up on previous efforts in the relatively weak maiden handicap. This is only the horse's second start in a handicap and improvement is very much in the cards.
Southwell Best Bets
Race 6: RED ROYALIST (1)
Trainer: Stuart Edmunds
Jockey: Cieren Gethings
With an engaging profile as a dual-purpose performer,
RED ROYALIST can successfully give away weight all round to complete a hat-trick over hurdles. He enters the handicap fray with the assessor taking no chances, but is riding on the crest of a wave with his tail up. Not only did he do what was necessary to land a couple of novice hurdles, but when running in a good race on the Flat at Chester ran an excellent second.
Race 7: THEATRE ACT (5)
Trainer: Dan Skelton
Jockey: William Marshall
Horses that migrate to the Skelton academy invariably improve and that has certainly been the case with
THEATRE ACT who finished second at Uttoxeter before trouncing her rivals in a normal handicap over this course and distance. Moving into a conditional jockeys' handicap here, she is strongly fancied to follow up.
Musselburgh Best Bets
Race 5: COMPUTABLE (3)
Trainer: Tim Easterby
Jockey: Rachel Richardson
Having given every indication that he's a well-treated horse about to 'pop' with an eyecatching run at Catterick last week,
COMPUTABLE can convert in this competitive sprint. He's got better with each of his four starts this season, this is his time of year, he's a course and distance winner and his stable is in grand form.
Race 7: ALISIA R (12)
Trainer: Les Eyre
Jockey: Izzy Clifton
Nobody could have predicted the 25-1 triumph of
ALISIA R here last week as she'd shown nothing previously and didn't attract even a shilling in the betting ring, but under her inexperienced pilot (who retains the mount) she quickened up nicely to win a shade cosily. As that was just her sixth career start she has the necessary scope to follow up.
Chelmsford Best Bets
Race 4: CANTINIERE (2)
Trainer: Saeed Bin Suroor
Jockey: Hayley Turner
Connections of
CANTINIERE have adopted a softly, softly approach to her campaign, this being just a third outing of the year for the filly who appeared not to stay on her latest run over a mile and a quarter here. She was also quite keen throughout the contest, and in hindsight ran well to be beaten a total of a mile and a quarter. That was a Class 3 for fillies only, and she is now in a Class 4.
Race 5: FIERY MISSION (5)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute
Jockey: Ryan Moore
Like so many of the horses from Freemason Lodge,
FIERY MISSION needed his first start at Windsor and displayed tell tale signs of greenness, losing ground at the start and getting the hang of things when the birds had flown. His effort to get within four and threequarter lengths of Vasiliev begs to be improved on, and he can prove a match for likely market leader Lady Lawyer.
