Bath will be under the cosh at home once again when Saracens visit the Rec on Friday. The hosts have lost three of their last five including last week’s 29-31 defeat to Harlequins.
Bath remain in seventh and can theoretically still make the playoffs, but they’ll need a huge shift in these final months if they are to do so. Saracens, meanwhile, beat an on-the-up Northampton outfit 36-17 at Allianz Park to maintain the pressure on Exeter at the top. They should get another positive result on Friday against a haphazard Bath side.

Both Sale and Leicester will be looking to put some consistency into their game when they clash at the AJ Bell Stadium on Friday. The two sides, level on points with one another, have endured seasons to forget so far this term.
The hosts’ 14-20 home loss to Exeter last week was their fourth in their last six outings while the Tigers’ recent 19-14 win over Wasps at Welford Road ended a run of five-successive losses. Leicester can leapfrog Sale with a win this weekend, but they may just come undone in south Manchester. It will be mighty close though.

Wasps v Newcastle Falcons

Wasps’ spectacular downward spiral continued last week as they went down 14-19 at Leicester. Having seemed destined for a top four finish a few months ago, Dai Young’s men now find themselves in a battle to remain relevant in 2019. They will get a good opportunity to claim all five-log points on offer this weekend when they host bottom-feeders Newcastle at the Ricoh.
The Falcons’ 17-6 defeat of Worcester last week would have given them an ounce of confidence, but they will still need something akin to a miracle to avoid relegation this season.
Verdict: Wasps by 14 or more

Northampton Saints v Bristol

Last week’s loss to Saracens put an end to Northampton’s impressive winning run and perhaps served as a reminder of just how far they still need to go to be considered one of the competition’s big dogs. Chris Boyd is clearly improving this side and certainly a playoff berth isn’t yet beyond them.
They will have a chance to advance their cause when Bristol, fresh off of a fantastic win over Gloucester, visit Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday. The Bears have shown encouraging signs during their debut season and deserve to remain amongst England’s elite going forward. That said, they may still struggle this weekend.
Verdict: Northampton by 10 or more

Worcester Warriors v Exeter Chiefs

Eleventh-placed Worcester, in danger of relegation, may find the going tough against the Chiefs on Saturday. The Warriors are five-points ahead of Newcastle and four below Bristol.
They simply must continue to pick up log points when on offer but could struggle this weekend. The table-topping Chiefs have been superb once again this season and will be confident of condemning the hosts to what would be an 11th loss of the campaign.
Verdict: Exeter by 14 or more

Harlequins v Gloucester

The battle for third spot heats up this weekend as fourth-placed Gloucester travel to Harlequins in third. Seven-points separate the sides heading into Sunday’s clash at the Stoop, with Johan Ackermann’s men aiming to close that gap as the competition begins to wind down.
The visitors let themselves down last week by falling at Bristol after knocking over the top two in the weeks prior. Harlequins’ narrow win at the Rec a week ago ensured their solid run continued and allowed them to put some breathing space between them and their upcoming opponents. Gloucester can reel them back in again with victory, but it will take some doing. The match will be close to call, but home ground advantage may favour the Quins.
