Gameweek seven of the 2019/20 German Bundesliga kicks off on Friday 4 October 2019. Check out our full betting preview below.
Leipzig relinquished their spot at the top of the table last time out after suffering their first defeat of the season. Bayern Munich’s place at the summit looks oh so familiar, while Dortmund continues to slip further down the standings. This is a recipe for a cracker round of Bundesliga action.
Friday 4 October
Hertha Berlin 17/20
Draw 28/10
Dusseldorf 29/10
Hertha Berlin seem to have sprung to life of late with two wins on the bounce, including a 4-0 annihilation of Cologne last weekend. Dusseldorf remain winless since the opening gameweek with four losses from their last five matches.
The hosts will be buzzing with confidence after last weekend’s thumping victory. Dusseldorf are on a downward spiral and I simply can’t see them getting anything out of this.
Back the home team to bag all three points.
Saturday 5 October
Paderborn 16/10
Draw 11/4
Mainz 29/20
Paderborn remain the only team without a win this season. They look dead and buried at the bottom of the standings and will be desperate to recover while it’s still early days. Mainz have lost five of their six matches, scoring just five times and conceding 16 times.
Although both sides are struggling to find the back of the net, this is a must-win game.
Goals are expected so climb on the Over 2.5 Goals market at 9/20.
Freiburg 17/4
Draw 7/2
Borussia Dortmund 11/20
Surprise, surprise, Freiburg are third on the table, just a point behind the leaders and they will be eager to maintain their form in order to improve as the season progresses. Dortmund have struggled of late but a win would put them back in the mix.
This should be one of the more entertaining contests this weekend.
Both sides will be in it to win it so get in on the action and back Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 5/10.
Bayern Munich 1/10
Draw 17/2
Hoffenheim 19/1
Bayern Munich leapfrogged Leipzig to the top of the table last weekend after ousting Paderborn 3-2. The Bavarians are now the only team unbeaten this season with four wins and two draws from six games.
Hoffenheim are winless in their last four games and have only scored four goals in their six games so far.
Bayern Munich are tipped to win both halves at 8/10.
Bayer Leverkusen 27/20
Draw 11/4
Leipzig 17/10
Bayer Leverkusen have been impressive of late with back-to-back wins, scoring five goals without conceding any. Leipzig were disappointing last time out after going down 3-1 to Schalke on home soil and giving Bayern Munich the upper hand.
I’m expecting a lightning start to this matchup.
With that being said, the First Half Totals – Over 1.5 Goals – market is well worth a punt at 11/10.
Schalke 6/10
Draw 32/10
Cologne 39/10
Schalke have been brilliant with four consecutive wins, including a well-deserved 3-1 victory away to Leipzig last weekend. Cologne are placed second from bottom on the standings with five losses from six games, scoring four goals and conceding 15 times.
This is by far my best bet of the weekend with the Royal Blues well-prized for the win.
Back Schalke to claim maximum points.
Sunday 6 October
Monchengladbach 11/20
Draw 7/2
Augsburg 9/2
Monchengladbach have been excellent with three wins on the spin, scoring six goals and conceding just once. Augsburg have managed just one victory from six matches, scoring seven goals and conceding double that amount.
The Borussians have won four of the last five meetings at home against Augsburg and will be looking to build on that.
Back ‘Gladbach to come out on top.
Wolfsburg 13/20
Draw 3/1
Union Berlin 4/1
Wolfsburg remain unbeaten with three wins and three draws from six matches and will be looking to maintain that record. Union Berlin have been terrible in recent weeks with three losses on the trot, scoring twice and conceding six times.
The Wolves are looking strong and should make easy work of the newcomers.
The hosts are tipped to get the victory at 13/20.
Eintracht Frankfurt 11/10
Draw 11/4
Werder Bremen 43/20
Eintracht Frankfurt bounced back to winning ways last time out with a hard-fought 2-1 win away to Union Berlin. Werder Bremen are without a win in their last two matches but earned a point at Dortmund last weekend, holding BVB to an entertaining 2-2 draw.
The last six meetings have seen both sides find the back of the net, so I suggest following the trend.
Take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 9/20.
TREBLE TIPPED @ 4/1
Hertha Berlin Win 17/20
Schalke Win 6/10
Wolfsburg Win 13/20
